The Society is a non-profit organization created to serve as a voice for and represent the professional needs of Aerospace Medicine specialists in the United States. The Society is a constituent organization of the Aerospace Medical Association (AsMA). Members are specialists in the field of Aerospace Medicine dedicated to the advancement of aviation and space medicine.

Charles A. Berry Memorial
ScholarshipShilpi Ganguly is the 2022 winner of the Charles A. Berry Memorial Scholarship. Shilpi is a rising fourth-year medical student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She sits on the executive boards of the University of Miami Emergency Medicine Student Association, Wilderness Medicine Student Interest Group, Aviation and Space Medicine Interest Group, and on the national executive board for Women in Aerospace Medicine.The scholarship, in its inaugural year, is awarded to honor the life and career of Dr. Chuck Berry, who was a pioneer of space medicine and instrumental in the success of the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions. It is open to U.S.-based students and residents with an interest in pursuing a career in aerospace medicine. More information on how to apply can be found on the AsMA scholarship website.
